Investigating the relationship between mental health and academic achievement in students of Shahid Ostad Rabbani University of Education and Training

Abstract
Objective: The objective of this research is to study the relationship between mental health and educational achievement among students of Ustad Rabbani University.
Research Methodology: This paper is based on Cross-Sectional Descriptive study and the statistics are based on the evaluations gathered from students of Ustad Rabbani University. In addition, the probability sampling method used in this paper is Simple Random Sampling with 400 samples. Moreover, research tools for this study are Goldberg 28-Item General Health Questionnaire (GHQ28) and students’ educational achievement records.
Results: The output derived from this research depicts that there is no significant difference between mental health and educational achievements among students of Ustad Rabbani University. Despite noticeable differences in subscales of mental health like body language, anxiety and depression among students of different gender, no significant difference was noticed with other socially dysfunctional disorders.
Discussion: Based on the results of this study, it is recommended to open psychotherapy and consultancy service centers in universities to help students suffering from mental health problems. Considering most of the students in this survey were single and staying in hostels with having fewer responsibilities and little life struggles, they were more focused on their studies.
