The Impact of an Educational Intervention Program on Malaria Prevention among Students in Rural Areas, Iranshahr, Iran
Main Article Content
Abstract
Malaria, as a global health problem, continues to be a significant challenge in Iran. The southern and southeastern regions of Iran, particularly Sistan and Baluchestan, Hormozgan, and Kerman provinces, are known as areas affected by malaria. Despite control and prevention programs, malaria remains a serious threat to the community, especially in rural areas with limited access to health information and services.
This article examines the impact of an educational intervention program on malaria prevention among students in rural areas of Iranshahr. The main objective of this educational program is to increase students' knowledge and awareness about the causes, symptoms, prevention methods, and treatment of malaria. By providing targeted health messages, students are empowered with the necessary knowledge and resources to identify and manage malaria-related health issues.
The educational intervention program in this study employed a non-experimental research method. By selecting a sample of students from rural areas of Iranshahr and implementing the educational program, the impact of this program on enhancing students' knowledge and awareness of malaria was evaluated.
The results of this study demonstrate that the educational intervention program can play an effective role in reducing the prevalence of malaria among students in rural areas. Increasing knowledge and awareness about malaria, understanding its symptoms and prevention methods, and strengthening community and teacher collaboration in implementing malaria control programs can be instrumental in controlling this disease.
